Congratulations to all students that participated in our first online tournament of the season. There were 57 students from 16 schools that played between the two sections.
At the end of the tournament our 1st – 3rd placed students earned an award which will be mailed to their school.

To participate in the tournament students must have their ChessKid account associated with our Enterprise Account 3 days prior to the tournament.
Join us for our Junior / Senior Prep Bowl 5-player team tournament that takes place at Sor Juana Elementary. The Junior Prep Bowl is for students in grades K-8 and the Senior Prep Bowl is for high school students in grades 9-12. Registration by school coaches only. Registration deadline is November 1.

The Academic Chess team will host a virtual seminar covering the use of the ChessKid by coaches on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, time 5:00 – 6:00 PM via Zoom. This webinar is for CPS coaches to help you with using ChessKid in your classroom, managing your group of students, and answering your questions.

Join us for one of our virtual informational webinars for parents on Wednesday, September 27, or on Thursday, September 28, both from 5 – 6 PM via Zoom. Learn about the upcoming 2023-24 Academic Chess season, changes to this year’s program, and about this year’s tournaments being rated by the US Chess Federation. Each day is limited to 100 participants and will be the same presentation each day.
Participants are required to register in advance. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
To confirm your attendance at one of the meetings, please complete your registration no later than September 25, 2023.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

If we reach our limit of 100 participants, we will schedule an additional coaches meeting.
All coaches are required to attend the coaches meeting or watch a video of the meeting that will be emailed out and posted on this website.
