The Knights Quest Tournament was a thrilling showcase of talent and strategy, bringing together 279 students from 30 schools to compete on 57 teams. The event highlighted the dedication and skill of young chess players, who demonstrated impressive focus and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and commitment, and special recognition goes to the winning teams and players for their outstanding achievements. Your success reflects not only your individual effort but also the support of your schools, coaches, and families. Well done to all who made this tournament an incredible experience!

Let’s make some bold moves this season!

This will be our last Virtual seminar for our new coaches. Designed to enhance their skills and provide ongoing professional development. Led by Senior Trainer Lamar Lockett of Twist and Shout, these interactive workshops will cover various topics, including effective coaching strategies, chess pedagogy, student engagement, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Lamar Lockett brings a wealth of experience and expertise, making these sessions an invaluable resource for new coaching staff. By offering these seminars virtually, we aim to make professional growth accessible and convenient for our coaches, allowing them to connect, share insights, and learn from seasoned professionals. This initiative reflects our commitment to continually improving the quality of our programs and ensuring that our coaches are equipped with the latest tools and knowledge to inspire and support CPS students through the transformative power of chess education.

Workshops take place on select Wednesdays from 6:30 – 7:30 pm via zoom. Check the event calendar for dates and login details.

This past weekend, we witnessed an outstanding display of talent and teamwork at the CPS All-Stars Tournament. A total of 305 players from 43 schools competed in this highly anticipated event, showcasing the chess prowess of our students. Registration is now open for our first in-person tournament of the year, the CPS All-Stars Chess Tournament! Students across the district will have the chance to showcase their skills, challenge their peers, and compete for top honors. Registration for this tournament is by school coaches only.

Please note that registration ends on October 9 at Noon, and each school is limited to 15 players. Additionally, the tournament is only open to schools that have completed their Academic Chess MOU.

We are excited to announce that our popular Tuesday Knights Online Rapid Tournament is back! 🏆 Starting on October 8, join us every Tuesday to compete online in exciting rapid chess battles. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting, this is the perfect opportunity to test your skills, challenge others, and have fun! ♟️

📅 When: Every Tuesday starting October 1
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM (CST)
🕒 Format: Rapid Chess – 10 minutes per player
