Are you an ambitious 6th-12th grader? Are you looking for a paid leadership opportunity? Join our paid internship program at the CPS Chess Queens, no chess experience necessary. You will have the opportunity to lead introductory chess lessons, host tournaments in the Chicago area, and have access to exclusive leadership opportunities. Chicago Public Schools partnered with Queens United Chess, a student-run organization to develop CPS Chess Queens. The program removes cost barriers and expands the accessibility of chess through female-led chess programs. We are looking for female-identifying 6th-12th grade students to join the Ambassador Program to serve as leaders in their communities. No prior chess experience is necessary – all team members go through a training program beforehand. 

Join us for our June Online Tournament open to students in grades K-12. For the summer months our online tournaments feature 2 sections: ELEMENTARY OPEN [GRADES K-6] – 5-ROUND INDIVIDUAL SWISS, G/15,+5; and MS-HS OPEN [GRADES 7-12] – 4-ROUND INDIVIDUAL SWISS, G/40,+5. Join tournament opens at 9:30 am and Round 1 starts at 10:00 am.

THIS TOURNAMENT WILL BE conducted ONLINE THROUGH CHESSKID.COM.

To participate in the tournament students must have their ChessKid account associated with our Enterprise Account 3 days prior to the tournament.

We return to in-person summer chess camps at Whitney Young High School. These camps are opened to CPS students from schools that who participate in either the Academic Chess or Cops & Kids Chess programs.
