About the Camp
The CPS High School Summer Knights Chess Camp is open to CPS students entering 9th–12th grade in the fall from schools that participate in either the Academic Chess or Cops & Kids Chess programs.
Camp Details
📍 Location: Whitney Young High School
📅 Dates: Monday – Friday, June 30 – July 18, 2025 (No camp on July 4)
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM daily
👥 Limited to: 20 participants
What to Expect
Participants will engage in a variety of enriching experiences, including:
♟️ Lessons from Chess Professionals – Improve your game with expert instruction
🎓 Empowerment Workshops – Develop leadership and life skills
🎒 Field Trips – Explore exciting destinations
🎉 Fun Activities – Enjoy team-building and social events
How to Apply
Interested students must complete the online application form by March 21, 2025.
📩 Selected participants will be notified via email in mid-April.
Stipend
Due to changes in the stipend rules, at this time we are not able to provide a stipend for participating in this camp.
