Congratulations to FM Avi Kaplan of Lane Tech College Prep for an extraordinary achievement at the 2024 National K-12 Grade Championships, held December 6-8 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland! Competing among more than 2,700 players from 45 states in the largest K-12 Grade Championships in US Chess history, Avi tied for 1st place in the 12th grade section, marking his second consecutive year at the top.
